I have called customer service 4 times, and have been told that I am due a refund and should be receiving a check within 7-10 business days. I cancelled my policy with them on Feb 10th and I'm still waiting for a refund. Where do I begin? Other than DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. I cannot express how much regret I have in trusting that US Health group would operate with integrity and honesty when we actually needed the coverage we’ve been paying for for so long. The $100,000+ plus we’ve paid them over the years would have paid these bills many times over. How is it not illegal for US Health Group to not pay medical bills that are covered under our plan? Since our medical provider knew that US Health group would do anything to avoid paying, we had to pay the surgeon’s bill ourselves to get our daughter the care she needed, which has put a tremendous financial burden on our family. We pay our premium every month without fail and have for over a decade. However, as soon as we had a second claim (which made only our 3rd claim in only a decade of them collecting premium for us), Karen stopped answering her emails and we’re now back to having US Health group ignore their obligations to us. Worried that they would cause our daughter to not get the medical care she needed, my wife posted a negative review online, and US Health group had a representative (Karen Falgoust) reach out and facilitate all the bills for this claim for the next several months. US Health Group ignored our claim for three months and kept asking us for the same information over and over again, so it became clear that they were deliberately trying to avoid paying anything. The surgeon required us to pay his bill up front because his billing department said US Health Group had too horrible of a reputation for doing anything possible to avoid paying claims. Most recently, our daughter needed surgery as a result of 2 different accidents. We’ve had to fight every step to get reimbursed. However, for the three claims we’ve had in the decade we’ve had this insurance, they’ve done everything possible to avoid paying anything. We were fortunate to not have any health issues for the first decade we had this insurance, which is how we went so long without knowing how awful they are. It’s hard to fathom how a company can legally operate like US Health group does – taking $10,000 per year in premiums for more than a decade and then ignoring/losing every bill we submit when we finally have a few claims 10 years later. I hope you can learn from my bad experiences. I've made many mistakes on my health care insurance journey. But that's why I assess PremierChoice to be a bad plan, and likely why TrustPilot and the Better Business Bureau are awash in negative reviews of USHEALTH Group. As far as USHEALTH Group is concerned, they've done all they're obligated to do per their color brochure. Any plan (like PremierChoice) that has a color brochure but doesn't have a standard Summary of Benefits and Coverage (SBC) is not legit. In my experience, everything else is a scam on some level. I dumped the plan ASAP, fearful of what was in store if I ever needed serious coverage. And that $300+ blood panel? USHEALTH Group covered $45. So I was also out over $330 for my office visit to establish with a doctor in my plan. They'll contribute a paltry few dollars for "sickness", but their contribution will fall short of the total bill. Nor do they cover office visits (if they are coded as "wellness" rather than "sickness"). When I asked the USHEALTH Group representative which plan I should have purchased so that the shot was covered, he knew of no such plan. ![]() That would appear to not even meet Minimum Essential Coverage per the Affordable Care Act. USHEALTH Group assured me that my top-tier "PremierChoice" Plan 3 did not cover immunizations, contradicting what Hailey told me. Hailey quickly became a ghost and stopped responding to my inquiries. I proceeded as she advised, and was subsequently billed $87 for that in-office flu shot. When I complained that I probably needed to cancel my plan over this early indicator, Hailey assured me I could get my free flu shot, but that I needed to do so at a proper doctor's office. Still though, why were they in there in the first place? When I went to CVS to get my flu shot in October, I gave them my USHEALTH Group insurance card for billing. I imagine they served Hailey's interests more than they served mine, and I should have insisted they be removed from the deal. Just what every retiree needs, right? Probably not. It seemed like a package deal, so I accepted MedGuard, Accident Protector, and a membership in the F-Rated (BBB) American Independent Business Coalition. The monthly premium was $861.43 all told (with a few additional packages and memberships I didn't need). ![]() I was sold USHEALTH Group's PremierChoice Plan 3 by licensed broker Hailey Bigras.
